KATHMANDU, August 28: It has been revealed that the building of Kathmandu Mall, owned by Employees Provident Fund (EPF), does not have design approval and construction permit.

In a discussion between the officials of the EPF on Sunday, it was found that both the design approval and the construction permit of Kathmandu Mall do not exist

The EPF had moved forward with the construction of the building even though the design was not approved by the Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC).

Bhupa Dev Shah, personal secretary of Balendra Shah, the mayor of Kathmandu Metropolis, said that if the EPF does not show the design approval and the construction permit, the metropolis will demolish the building.

Shah said, “This is a subject that is being discussed now. The EPF is struggling in this matter. If it does not show both the design approval and the construction permit, the metropolis will demolish the building.”

Recently, KMC started a campaign to demolish illegal structures across the city.
