KMC’s independent mayoral candidate Shah gets stick as his election symbol

KATHMANDU, April 30: Rapper Balen Shah, an independent candidate for the post of mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC), has received a stick as his election symbol today.

KATHMANDU, April 30: Rapper Balen Shah, an independent candidate for the post of mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC), has received a stick as his election symbol today.


After receiving the election symbol, Shah wrote on his twitter, “Stick is my election symbol. This can be used to provide support to elderlies and even punish corrupts.”

Local level poll candidates receive election symbols


The Election Commission (EC) has provided election symbols to all the parties and independent candidates to contest in the local level poll today. While the parties registered with the EC for local level elections received their own symbols, independent candidates were provided with the election symbol by EC itself.


The candidates are now allowed to conduct promotional campaigns until the start of the silent period. The local level election is scheduled to be held on May 13.
