KATHMANDU, Sept 13: Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City Bidya Sundar Shakya has recovered successfully from COVID-19 infection on Sunday.
Shakya, who was diagnosed with this viral infection on August 31, returned to his residence in Bhotebahal after he was tested negative for the virus on Sunday afternoon.
Sources said Mayor Shakya stayed at the isolation ward set up at Soaltee Hotel after a few days of staying in isolation at his own home. He moved to the hotel with his wife after other members of his family also contracted the virus.
Shakya will be resuming his normal duties after taking a rest for a few days at his private residence, according to his family sources.
