KMC Mayor Bidya Sundar Shakya tests positive for COVID-19

KATHMANDU, Aug 31: The Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City Bidya Sundar Shakya has been diagnosed with novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

According to Joint Secretary at KMC Rajeshwor Gyawali, Mayor Shakya tested positive for the virus on Monday. “His health is stable and he is staying at home in isolation,” said Gyawali. Mayor Shakya’s spouse and children, however, have tested negative during the lab tests.
