KATHMANDU, Feb 7: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) is administering the second dose of Pfizer vaccine against COVID-19 from Monday (today). The vaccination campaign will be carried out till February 19.
A meeting of the District Vaccine Coordination Committee, Kathmandu, held three days back decided to launch the campaign. Following the decision, the KMC is administering the second dose of Pfizer vaccine to those who have already received their first dose three weeks before or more.
Issuing a notice, Balram Tripathi, chief of health section at KMC, said that the vaccination program will be carried out every day except Saturday from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The vaccine centers will be fixed at nearby schools by the vaccine coordination committee of all 32 wards.
The children belonging to the age group between 12 and 17, who have already been vaccinated with the first dose will be provided the second dose.
