KATHMANDU, Jan 10: National football team's members, goalkeeper Kiran Kumar Limbu, forward Anjan Bista, have left for Maldives and Spain respectively on Monday to hone their football skills in respective countries.
Kiran will play for Trust and Care Football Club in Maldives' top division named Dhivehi Premier League while young forward Anjan will spend three months with Marbella United FC of Spain. He will train with different clubs during his stay in Spain.
Before leaving to Maldives Kiran said that he is joining Trust and Care as it will be new challenge for his career. “I am hopeful that joining foreign club will help my playing career given the lack of league inside the country. I think my experience with Maldivian club also will be fruitful for the national team,” said Kiran.
“This club was following me from a while. I decided to join it looking at the club and overall Maldivian league's level,” added Kiran. He has signed one year contract with last season's Maldivian league runner-up. He didn't disclose his salary. “Club had proposed me two year contract however I have accepted one year contract only. Regarding the contract there are still some details to be completed which will be done once I reach there,” ended Kiran.
This is second occasion that the former Three Star and Manang Marsyangdi goalkeeper Kiran is playing professional football abroad. He had played for Bangladesh's top division club Chittagong Abahani Limited in 2010.
Similarly Anjan is joining Marbella for the second time as he was with Spanish team for two months in 2016. Anjan who had bagged Armed Police Force (APF)'s most valuable player award on Sunday will play and train with Marbella for three months besides attending trial for different European clubs in that period. “I hope to develop my playing skills during my Spain stay,” said Anjan. He also informed that the other members of national team including forward Bimal Gharti Magar will also leave for Spain after few days.
