MAHOTTARI, March 22: The police rescued an abducted man after 17 days from Bihar of India. Suresh Sah of Gaushala municipality-8 in Mahottari district was abducted on March 3.
The district police team led by Inspector Dipak Chorbar launched a search for Suresh acting on a complaint lodged by Debsunar Devi, mother of Suresh. The police at Betiya of Bihar assisted the Mahottari police in this rescue operation.
Sah's kidnappers phoned Amarnath Mahato, brother-in-law of Suresh for a ransom from Mainma forest area between Bagaha and Balmiki town near Betiya in India. They used Indian registered numbers.
The kidnappers asked the family of Suresh to reach the area for Suresh's release. The Mahottari police tracked the phone details and followed the kidnappers at the area and rescued Suresh, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Khagendra Bahadur Khadka.
Indian police arrested two persons - Suraj Chaudhary and Kashi Sah of Kalaiya municipality-12 in Bara district - in connection with the kidnap. They also seized a country-made pistol and its ammunition from them. Investigations were ongoing, said Indian police. The rescued Suresh has been handed to his family, said Khadka. RSS
