Kick Off faces first defeat

KATHMANDU, Nov 16: Kick Off Futsal faced its first defeat in the ongoing Red Bull National Futsal League on Wednesday.

In the final league match of the first round, home team White Horse overcame Kick Off 5-4.

Manjil Maharjan and Ritesh Lama netted two goals each for White Horse while Manoj Prajapati added another.

Similarly, Raj Poudel scored a hat-trick for Kick Off and Bijay Shrestha scored another goal. Despite the defeat, Kick Off is still leading Group A with 18 points from seven matches.

Baneshwar Futsal and White Horse are in second and third positions respectively. The two teams have equal points but Baneshwar is ahead of White Horse due to better goal difference. Manjil Maharjan of White Horse was declared man-of-the-match. 

In Group B match, away team Shankhamul Futsal registered 2-1 victory over Tahachal Futsal. Sanjog Chamling and Sher Bahadur Magar notched one goal each for Shankhamul while Sujit Budhathoki scored a consolation goal for Tahachal. Shankhamul's Dinesh Rajbanshi was declared man-of-the-match.  After the victory, Shankhamul has climbed to the top spot in Group B with 16 points from seven matches. Kumari Futsal is second with 14 points while Tahachal is third with 13 points. 

The event carries highest cash prize in domestic futsal. The winning side will get richer by Rs 1 million and the runner-up will walk home with a purse of Rs 500,000. The best player and best goalkeeper will get Rs 50,000 each.
