Khukri presents ‘Khukri Music Nation’

Khukri announces the launch of “Khukri Music Nation” contest to continue the legacy of Nepali music and mark the grand start of the New Year 2021. According to a press statement released by Khukri, this campaign will feature Nepal’s established and emerging recording artists, who will be performing to promote Nepali music and Nepali artists. 

The statement added that Khukri Rum will be holding a contest via its website, wherein applicants will be able to submit their musical talent by uploading videos. The panel of judges includes Bipul Chhetri, Sambriddhi Rai and Sabin Rai. This contest is open to all Nepali residing within Nepal or abroad.
Announcement of The top 16 contestants will be made on January 1, 2021 via Khukri Music Nation’s live musical show.

Moreover, the musical show on January 1 will also feature performances by leading Nepali artists CobWeb, Sambriddhi Rai, Bipul Chhetri, Sabin Rai and the pharaoh, The Axe Band and The Elements. 

Due to the current COVID-19 situation, Khukri Music Nation will not be a physical show, but this will be the first-of-its-kind and the largest online concert in Nepal. The quest for the new Nepali Music Star will end with the winner announcement on February 21, 2021, who wins a Khukri Musical contract worth of Rs 1,100,000, and have an opportunity to perform with various artists in Nepal as per the statement.

It quoted event manager - Khukri Rum, Shrida Shah, as saying, “Khukri Rum takes pride in Nepali Music and talents. We have organized and supported various music shows throughout the years, and with Khukri Music Nation, too, we are hoping to give a platform to emerging Nepali artists to exhibit their talents. The new normal phase of COVID-19 has made things difficult for all of us, the music industry is no exception. But it should not halt the aspiration of creating good music. Hence, we have come up with the event celebrating Nepali music and Nepali artists but this time virtual.”
