BABIYACHAUR (Myagdi), Feb 26: A family has donated a huge amount for infrastructure construction of the Muktimarg Secondary School located at Dhar – 5 of Myagdi.
Tika Bahadur and his son, Dev Bahadur Khadka, have donated a whopping Rs 1.5 million worth of land property and cash to the school. Dev Bahadur Khadka is a tourism entrepreneur. The Khadka family also donated three ropanis of land that it had purchased last year at a cost of Rs 1.1 million.
The school had started raising funds at the community level and sought labour donation after the Rs 6 million provided by the District Education Office (DEO) did not suffice.
School Management Committee Chairman, Gokul Baruwal, said the funds were collected at the local level as the geographical remoteness made the supply of construction materials even more expensive. They school has estimated the total construction cost to hover around Rs 10 million.
The school also received Rs 120,000 at the initiative of Naryan Khadka living in Belgium and Rs 51,000 more from Dabilal Khadka living in Japan. The Ghar VDC office has allocated Rs 500,000 for the purpose. RSS
