In the fashion-conscious world that we live in, we often find ourselves fretting too much about whether we’re dressing right or not.

The Week’s Reya Shreya Rai speaks to two fashion forward bloggers Anwita Shrestha and Ases Prasai on their personal preferences and mantras that we can all make use of. There’s a lot to learn for these youngsters.

The outfit you’ve got on

My favorite attire is this amazing sweater with sequins. It’s so chic and I love sequins. I like the way it complements my favorite thigh high boots. I love this outfit because not only does it looks good but is also very special to me as I wore it on my 17th birthday. What you wear has to speak about who you are.

A DIY idea that we could all benefit from

The most useful DIY I know is a coffee scrub. Just add some coconut or almond oil to some coffee grounds and apply it wherever you please. It’s easy and much better than other chemical products.

The pros and cons of winter in your everyday life

I don’t really prefer winters. Everyday things like getting up, taking a shower, and changing into clothes are so much harder. However, there are some pros as well. I love wearing warm and cozy sweaters, drinking hot coffee and eating oranges under the sun. I just love those little things!

Your best attribute and your worst

One of my best attributes is my ambitiousness, especially when it comes to fashion. I am ready to take risks and curious enough to experiment new getups and attires. On the other hand, my worst attribute is that I always want things to go my way. I get annoyed when other people don’t agree with what I have decided to do.

Your fetish and biggest turn off

I don’t have any weird fetishes at the moment. Still, it’s a huge turn off for me when people are rude to others for no reason. I also dislike people who don’t like dogs.

The ideal place to distress and enjoy

Mitini Cafe in Lazimpat is my favorite place to hangout. It has such a calming vibe and the food and drinks are great too. They also have a small little shop inside with cute handmade stuff.

The thing that makes your blog different from others

The one special thing about my blog is that I give details about my purchases and the outfit that I’m wearing and also provide ideas on how to wear them in different ways. I try to write less but give as many ideas as possible visually in every post.

What the future holds

I see myself owning a very affordable but fashion forward brand of my own. I want to be able to provide the newest and latest fashion trends through my own brand.

The outfit you’ve got on

I’m wearing a White T-shirt, layered over with an orange long jacket which is one of my favorites. I always feel comfortable with jeans so I have worn plain slight washed jeans and a pair of Chelsea boots. I also think that it’s always a good idea to wear a hat whether it’s a sunny day or a cold breezy evening weather.

A DIY idea that we could all benefit from

I’ve always loved the idea of DIY. I’d suggest using a pair of old jeans and following different YouTube channels to transform it into a destroyed look that would give you an easy yet breezy look. You can also try cutting off your long sleeves into halves as well as the outer neckline of your sweaters for a rough wear.

The pros and cons of winter in your everyday life

I would say the best time to dress up is winter from men’s point of view as we can add a lot of layers in our attire and give off a cool vibe. I love the variety of styles we get to choose from during this season. You can wear jackets, blazers, trench coats, mufflers and other smart woolens. However, woolen wear is a pain to clean and the lint that accumulates really annoys me.

Your fetish and biggest turn off

I really want to get inked and have lots of scripts and artwork all over my body. I don’t have any tattoos yet though. There are lots of things that turn me off real quick. Regardless, I’d say body odor and bad breath are the fastest ways to gross me out.

The ideal place to distress and enjoy

Summer or winter I adore sipping a warm mug of coffee while listening to my favorite playlist and a good lunch. So you can always find me around amazing coffee places like Magic Beans to Octave. My favorite hangout weekends places are Durbar and The Victory Lounge for good music and drinks where I can show off my dance moves and chill with my people.

The thing that makes your blog different from others

Being a male fashion blogger in Nepal is in itself a feat, I presume. I try to keep my blog as real and easy as possible. I make sure that the clothing I model is accessible enough to the public. Only opting for expensive brands is not the way it functions. I prefer minimalism with less effort so that people can actually carry out my ideas in everyday life. I’m just really happy that my readers love that and appreciate my efforts.

What the future holds

I see myself as a successful IT professional as well as a renowned fashion blogger bringing change in the Nepali fashion industry.
