KCTC to take on GHCA in HCL final

KATHMANDU, Feb 29: Kathmandu Cricket Training Center (KCTC) defeated Oasis Cricket Academy by an innings and 31 runs on day-2 to reach the final of the ongoing U-19 Himalaya Cricket League being held in Kathmandu on Thursday.

KATHMANDU, Feb 29: Kathmandu Cricket Training Center (KCTC) defeated Oasis Cricket Academy by an innings and 31 runs on day-2 to reach the final of the ongoing U-19 Himalaya Cricket League being held in Kathmandu on Thursday.


At the Mulpani Cricket Ground, Oasis was dismissed twice on same day after resuming the day on 41 runs for the loss of five wickets. The left-arm spinner Surya Tamang and leg-spinner Tilak Raj Bhandari shared five wickets each to dismiss Oasis for 78 runs in the second innings. 


Similarly, player-of-the-match Tamang had wrecked the Oasis innings in the first innings by scalping record-breaking eight wickets in 15 overs. Oasis was dismissed for 81 runs in the first innings.

KCTC had scored 190 runs in the first innings before losing all its wickets in 48.3 overs. 


Bipin Acharya continued his good form with the bat notching up another half-century. He scored 57 runs off 90 deliveries which included 10 boundaries opening the batting for his side. 


Similarly, Rahul Bhandari and Bibek Rana Magar contributed 42 and 27 runs off 52 and 42 deliveries respectively to take KCTC’s score close to 200.


Sachin Sharma was the pick of the bowlers for Oasis registering four wickets on the day. 


Sumit Shrestha and Aayush Baniya shared two wickets each whereas Sworup Shrestha chipped in with a wicket.


Both the teams had defeated Baluwatar Cricket Club earlier in the group matches.


The winner of the match, KCTC has reached the final of the second edition of the two-day tournament and will face Great Himalaya Cricket Academy for the championship on Sunday.
