KATHMANDU, Aug 30: Various local bodies and organisations in Kavrepalanchok have announced a total of Rs 3.6 million in assistance for the rescue, relief and rehabilitation of people affected by the Rasuwa floods.
Chaurideurali Rural Municipality and Roshi Rural Municipality will each provide Rs 1 million, while the Nepali Congress Kavrepalanchok District Committee will contribute Rs 1.1 million and Achyutananda Jyotish Ayurveda Pharmacy in Banepa will provide Rs 500,000.

Chaurideurali decided to contribute the amount from allowances of elected representatives and employees as well as its disaster management fund to the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund. Roshi Rural Municipality will contribute Rs 970,700 from seven days’ allowances of elected representatives and one day’s salaries of employees and teachers, along with Rs 29,200 from its disaster management fund.
The Nepali Congress district committee will send the Rs 1.1 million collected from party leaders and workers through the party’s central disaster management fund.
Meanwhile, the District Administration Office in Dhulikhel said 39 residents of Kavrepalanchok who were in various places for work or travel during the Bhotekoshi floods remain out of contact. Of the 47 people initially reported missing from the district, eight have since contacted their families.
