A meeting chaired by Chief District Officer Krishna Bahadur Raut decided to ensure that all imports of chicken, chicks, eggs and meat are free of the virus.
For this purpose, the meeting decided to set up veterinary check posts in various locations. Vet check post would be set up at Mangaltar, Sangha and Nala along with police check posts.
“As Kavre shares border with Sindhuli, poultry products coming from Bardibas through the BP Highway poses high risk of spreading bird flu in the district,” said Dayaram Mahat, secretary general of Poultry Entrepreneurs Forum.
He requested all farmers in the district to adopt high alertness. He further urged his members to import poultry products by meeting the required procedures.
