BANEPA, April 22: Farm products and the technologies being used on the field will be showcased in an agro fair and exhibition in Kavre district, being organized from April 28 to May 1.
The organizers of the event have said that the exhibition has aimed to educate new farmers on the skills and technology available for farming.
Banepa Municipality, all local units, and agriculture and livestock offices in the district are jointly organizing the event. Samriddha Kavre Krishi Sahakari Sanstha and Kavre Krishi Bazar Multipurpose Pvt Ltd are the managers of the event.
Organic agro farm in operation
This exhibition covers all sectors and areas of the district, unlike the previous exhibitions that covered only certain limited areas.
Coordinator of the exhibition, Purna Chandra Sigdel, said that they will also be featuring products from other districts apart from Kavre.
An array of products including agro-vet, seeds, saplings, agriculture machineries, dairy products, fish, meat and fruits will be showcased in the 150 stalls of the exhibition.
The organizers have estimated the number of visitors to be above 50,000. Best farmers will also be rewarded at the end of the exhibition.
The fair is also an opportunity for the local units to inform the public about the progress in the services delivered by agriculture and livestock offices after the local units started managing them.
Sigdel also said that local units will use the platform to explain their plans of improving agriculture and livestock services, and present the impact report of farmers' cooperatives on promotion of agricultural activities.
