KATHMANDU, Oct 5: With 1,531 new cases of COVID-19 recorded in the past 24 hours, the Kathmandu Valley’s COVID-19 case tally has reached 30,848.

Of the 2,440 new cases recorded across the country on Monday, 1,531 were recorded in the Valley alone which accounts for 62.75 percent of the total case.


The three districts in the Kathmandu Valley – Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Lalitpur – are among the districts with the highest number of COVID-19 cases.


According to the latest data from the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), 1,178 new cases in Kathmandu, 103 in Bhaktapur and 250 in Lalitpur were detected on Monday.


Likewise, the Kathmandu Valley’s COVID-19 death toll has reached 165 with 12 new cases of fatality recorded in the past 24 hours. Nine of them were recorded in Kathmandu and three in Lalitpur district.
