Kathmandu Valley received 46 mm rainfall in three hours, Bara 112 mm today

KATHMANDU, Sept 9: The Kathmandu Valley recorded 46 millimeters of rainfall in a period of three hours today. 

According to meteorologist Manju Basi, Meteorological Forecasting Division, the Valley witnessed the rainfall since morning today. 

Similarly, Bara received the highest - 112 mm rainfall. According to Basi, today the Kathmandu Valley and the adjoining areas received rainfall and it is likely to continue for the next few days.   

The Valley witnessed heavy rainfall at some locations. Singha Durbar, Maitighar, Putalisadak, Ratnapark and Tripureshwar areas were hit by heavy downpour. 

As the Division said, the axis of monsoon trough is a little south from its average location, resulting in partly and generally cloudy weather across the country and rainfall.  

Tonight, it will be partly to generally cloudy in the hilly regions of the country and partly cloudy in the rest of the country. Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely to occur at a few places of the hilly region of the country, according to the Division.
