KATHMANDU, Aug 14: Three districts in the Kathmandu Valley have reported the highest number of COVID-19 cases in a single day in the past 24 hours.
According to the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), as many as 172 more people were diagnosed with this viral infection in Kathmandu Valley. They include 126 from Kathmandu, 38 from Lalitpur and 8 from Bhaktapur district.
Following the government’s decision to lift the nationwide lockdown starting July 22, a number of people who had earlier left for their home districts returned to the Valley. As a result, the Valley has witnessed a sharp increase in COVID-19 cases in recent days. MoHP has reported 1416 COVID-19 cases in Kathmandu Valley since August 1.
