KATHMANDU, March 26: Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has started spraying disinfectant to curb the spread of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in the capital.
The metropolis started spraying the disinfectant from Wednesday. The KMC sprayed disinfectant at Basantapur Durbar Square and its sorrounding areas.
According to the mayor Bidhya Sundar Shakya, 10 liter of Chlorine has been mixed to 1000 liter water to be sprayed by a jet machine with capacity of 4000 liter mixture. “Although it is not the time for making crowds, there may be little public movement in some places like hospitals. Therefore, KMC is attempting to contain the spread of this viral infection,” said Shakya. According to him, KMC will regularly clean streets with broomer and water.
