Raju Raj Joshi is a resident of Kathmandu-19. Joshi, who served as a district committee secretary of Nepali Congress, had joined politics in the 1980s. He has an MBA from TU. He also served as vice-president of Socialist International. He is the brother of Industry Minister Nabindra Raj Joshi.

A local of Lagantole, Bidyasundar Shakya joined politics as a leader of UML’s youth wing. He was elected twice as ward committee chairman of Kathmandu-21. He is the secretary of the party’s Kathmandu District Committee and holds a bachelor’s degree in management.
Sarwottam Dangol is from Tahachal. A politburo member of CPN (Maoist Center), he had joined politics in the 1970s. He was jailed for over two years and was disappeared by the state for 84 days during the anti Panchayat movement. He has master’s degree in management from the TU.
Ranju Darshana, 21, is probably the youngest candidate for the post of Kathmandu’s mayor. She joined Bibeksheel Nepali Party three years ago and later became its central committee member. She is currently pursuing her bachelor’s degree in development studies.
Kishore Thapa is from Sajha Party. An architect engineer, Thapa retired as a secretary at the Ministry of Urban Development. He also worked as an international expert for National Residential Policy Making of Myanmar. The SLC topper of 2031 BS has a master’s degree in urban planning.
