KATHMANDU, May 3: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) on Wednesday declined 9.18 points to close at 1,857.23 points.
The secondary market opened at 1,866.40 points, gained around two points in the first few minutes before it went to a straight fall in the remaining trading period.

Two out of the 13 trading groups gained in their market values. Of the remaining 11 groups, life insurance lost the largest of 59.69 points.
The sensitive index that measures the performance of blue chip companies declined 1.19 points. In the intraday trading, 156 listed companies were the losers, while 51 companies added to their market values.
The daily turnover amount was recorded at a mere Rs 620.26 million, down from Rs 692.27 million on Tuesday. The market transaction has fallen heavily in the recent days due to a low confidence of investors.
Among individual companies, Shivam Cements had the biggest shares transaction of Rs 30.50 million. NIBL Growth Fund was the biggest loser, while Aatmanirbhar Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited gained the highest percentage of its market price.
