Kathmandu DAO urges hospitals to not create panic

KATHMANDU, May 12: The District Administration Office, Kathmandu has asked stakeholders, including hospitals, ‘to not create panic among the public in the name of public notices showing oxygen shortage’. 

Hospitals are issuing public notices, stating that patients cannot be admitted due to lack of oxygen, and even the admitted patients cannot be treated.  The DAO has urged the hospitals to pay attention to humanitarian sensitivities. 

The DAO said that stakeholders are working to arrange hospital beds, medicine and oxygen to control the infection. It has requested not to spread fear and panic.

Such activities affect the general public, all parties should play a responsible role in controlling the COVID-19, reads the statement issued late night Wednesday.
