Kathmandu, Chengdu to be sister cities

KATHMANDU, Dec 23: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City is all set to sign a memorandum of understanding with Chengdu, the capital city of Sichuan province of China, on Friday for establishing sister city relations between the two cities.

KATHMANDU, Dec 23: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City is all set to sign a memorandum of understanding with Chengdu, the capital city of Sichuan province of China, on Friday for establishing sister city relations between the two cities.

The MoU will be signed on Friday in Kathmandu. Secretary of the Communist Party of China, Tang Liangzhi, who is a former mayor of Chengdu, and Kathmandu Metropolitan City's chief and executive officer Rundra Singh Tamang will sign the MOU.


Chengdu had proposed to establish sister city relation with Kathmandu last year during the then deputy prime minsiter Kamal Thapa's visit to Chengdu.
