KATHMANDU, Oct 18: The Kaski District Court has issued an arrest warrant against the chairman of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) and former Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane for his alleged involvement in a cooperative scam.
The warrant was issued by Judge Krishna Jung Shah on Friday implicating Lamichhane in the Suryadarshan Cooperative fraud case in Pokhara. The Parliamentary investigation special committee on misuse of co-operatives savings has recommended the government to initiate legal action against Lamichhane.

Following this report, police had requested an arrest warrant against Lamichhane, which the Kaski District Court granted on Friday evening. The warrant comes as authorities seek to apprehend Lamichhane for his involvement in the cooperative embezzlement case.
Previously, Lamichhane’s former business partner and one of the promoters of Galaxy 4K Television Chhabilal Joshi was arrested in connection with the same case. As per the police, former DIG Joshi's statement has led to the issuance of the warrant against Lamichhane.
