KATHMANDU, July 25: A meeting of the provincial assembly of Karnali Province that had been postponed for about a week, will be held today. The CPN (Maoist Center), the main party in the ruling coalition, left the meeting held on July 19, expressing discontent over the government. Speaker Raj Bahadur Shahi disclosed that the meeting has been called at 3 PM today.
The all-party meeting chaired by Speaker Shahi on Wednesday, July 20 at 3 PM had ended without any conclusions. After the meeting did not draw any conclusions, he suggested solving the issue within parties of the ruling coalition. He mentioned that the meeting would address the demands made by the Maoist Center to the assembly.
Chief Minister Jeevan Bahadur Shahi said that consensus and cooperation were indispensable to clear the obstacles. Krishna Shah, chief whip of the Maoist Center, said that the discussions within the coalition parties had been positive so far.
