SURKHET, Sept 9: The government of Karnali Province has decided to form an expert panel comprising of think tanks of the region to prepare a master plan for the development of the region.
The expert panel led by former minister Janardan Sharma will analyze the development achieved so far, the current development projects, development prospects and challenges in the region. Surendra Uprety, Punya Regmi, Suresh Tiwari, Balananda Poudel, Surendra Bahadur Shah, Kushendra Mahat, Krishna Prasad Poudel, Govinda Prasad Sharma, Padam Bahadur Shahi and Mukti Pradhan are named as members of the expert group.
82 per cent work under Lumbini Master Plan completed
The expert group has been asked to suggest ways to construct physical infrastructures in a sustainable way and to capitalize on the prospects of agriculture, tourism and industry.
Chief Minister Mahendra Bahadur Shahi informed that the government is drafting Terms of Reference for the expert group and its operation modality along with drafting the required laws for its operation.
The expert team's coordinator Sharma claimed that the team was formed with the aim of creating a role model in terms of development.
