SURKHET, Jan 20: Karnali Chief Minister (CM) Rajkumar Sharma has received the vote of confidence from the provincial assembly. CM Sharma had the support of 25 members while 14 were against him. A vote of confidence in the 40-member provincial assembly requires the support of at least 21 members.
Sharma got votes from CPN (Maoist Center), CPN-UML, Unified Socialist, RPP and independent members. In the 40-member Karnali Provincial Assembly, there are 13 members from the Maoist Center, nine from the CPN-UML, and one member each from the Unified Socialist Party, RPP and independent members.
Nepali Congress (NC), the largest party in the provincial assembly, voted against Sharma. The NC has 14 members in the Karnali province assembly.
