KATHMANDU, Dec 24: A hat-trick from Amisha Karki helped Nepali U-15 girls’ football team thrash Bhutan 6-1 in a friendly match in Lalitpur on Monday.

In the first out of two friendlies of the teams played at the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) Complex at Satdobato, forward Karki scored a six-minute double to complete her hat-trick before the hour mark.

Captain Preeti Rai was on a brace, while Sunkali Rai opened the scoring for Nepal as the team built on that early advantage.

Nepal broke the deadlock in the fifth minute of the match as Sunkali gave the team an early lead. Karki doubled Nepal’s lead after seven minutes.

However, Nepal was pegged back as captain Deki Lhazom pulled the game back on track in the 14th minute.

Captain Preeti restored Nepal’s two-goal parity in the 44th minute, while Karki added her personal second four minutes later.

Karki was still not done as she completed her hat-trick in the 54th minute of the match.

A goal in the 89th minute for Preeti, her double, sealed Nepal’s thrashing of Bhutan and ensured a convincing win for the team.

The second friendly match is scheduled to be held on December 25.
