Kapilvastu reports two new COVID-19 deaths

BUTWAL, Sept 14: Kapilvastu district has reported two more cases of fatalities due to the coronavirus infection. Two patients from Chandrauta succumbed to this deadly disease recently.

A 47-year-old female patient from Shivraj Municipality-5, Chandrauta, breathed her last while undergoing treatment at the Butwal-based COVID-19 hospital while another 58-year-old male from the same place passed away in the course of treatment at Bhim Hospital in Bhairahawa.

According to Dr Bishnu Gautam, information officer at the Lumbini Provincial Hospital in Butwal, the woman who was a longtime kidney patient, was admitted to the hospital on September 6. “Brought to hospital in a critical condition, the woman was being treated at the ICU,” he added. She died at 4AM on Monday.

The man, on the other hand, was admitted to the isolation ward set up at the hospital on September 8. He was shifted to the ICU on Friday after his health deteriorated further, said information officer at the hospital, Dr Narayan Pokhrel. The man breathed his last at 10:30 PM on Sunday.
