KATHMANDU, Feb 8: Former RPP Chairman Kamal Thapa has announced his separation from the Rastriya Prajatantra party (RPP). Speaking at a press conference in Hetauda on Tuesday, Thapa announced that he had decided to quit RPP.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, Thapa said that the party had split due to ideological deviations and wrong tendencies within the party.
Thapa had been demanding an investigation into Nirmal Niwas' interference in the party's recently-held general convention in which he was defeated by Rajendra Lingden in the race for the party’s presidency. However, Thapa said he decided to leave the party after the new party Chairman Lingden did not pay any heed to his concerns about the party.
