"Kalo Pothi" to represent Nepal for Oscars race

KATHMANDU, Sept 7: 'Kalo Pothi (The Black Hen)' directed by Min Bham has been nominated for the Oscars 2017 from Nepal under the Foreign Language category.

KATHMANDU, Sept 7: 'Kalo Pothi (The Black Hen)' directed by Min Bahadur Bham has been selected as Nepal's offiicial submission fot the Foreign Language category in the 89th Academy Awards( popularly known as 'The Oscars').


The film had been released on June 3.

 Bham's award-winning debut movie got selected, knocking out 'Pashupati Prasad' and 'Ko Aafno' movies from the selection race.


Nepal has selected this movie based on the movie's standard to match the criteria for the award such as its technical, presentation, characters, emotions, story and various other aspects.


The Oscar 2017  is set to be held in February 26, 2017.
