Be it because of poor management or result of award distribution, National Film Award that held at the Rashtrapati Bhavan, Sheetal Niwas, Maharajgunj, faced criticism.

Actress Karishma Manandhar is one among them who criticized the poor management during the award function, organized at President's official residence. She took on to Facebook and expressed her dissatisfaction about the way actors were treated who performed in front of the President inside the house. She explained how the actors’ performing in front of the President was similar to performing in front of the king, during the monarchy period.

She wrote in Nepali on her Facebook status, which is roughly translated as, “Once upon a time there was a king in a country who used to watch the actors’ performance at National Academy Hall. It is fine to perform outside a house, on a stage but it’s totally unacceptable to perform inside a house (President’s residence). We can give our life to you, if you ask for because you are our mother.”

Agreeing to Karishma’s expression, actor Saroj Khanal, one of the performers in the event commented on her Facebook status and wrote, “I totally agree with your thoughts. I performed in the event because I could not say no to the dance Guru. But this is my first and last performance at that place.”

Then, Karishma replied to Saroj that it’s good to know Saroj realized it, where he showed his disappointment toward poor management by sharing his photo, sitting on a toilet seat in reply.

“All felicitator and prize distributors were sitting on the sofa. But, a total of 35 artists who were going to perform in the event were put inside a congested 8 x 10 small room. And I was waiting for my turn, sitting on a toilet seat,” he replied.

Likewise, another actor Jai Kishan Basnet also shared his photo on social media about his distress in the event.
