Jumla to build a separate COVID Hospital

JUMLA, Nov 23: The District Crisis Management Committee, Jumla, has decided to build a well-equipped hospital in the district for the treatment of COVID-19.

A meeting of the committee presided over by Chief District Officer Bhupendra Thapa took a decision to this effect.

The decision to construct a separate COVID-19 hospital was taken as there is only the Karnali Academy of Health Sciences Teaching Hospital in Jumla for the treatment of patients of all other diseases, Assistant Chief District Officer Om Prakash Devkota said.     

As decided, the new hospital will be built in the Infrastructure Development Office, Jumla, Devkota shared.

Likewise, arrangements have been made for ambulance services to take COVID-19 patients to the hospital and the seven different local units of Jumla will pay for the ambulance service. 

The tally of coronavirus-infected persons in Jumla district reached 404 and a total of 371 of them have returned home after recovery from the virus, according to the District Administration Office.
