Nepal Rastra Bank unveils monetary policy for FY 2019/20 (with full text)

Nepal Rastra Bank unveiled Monetary Policy for the Fiscal Year 2019/20 on Wednesday that has paved the way for the establishment of branches of Nepali financial institutions in foreign countries. According to the policy, the banks no longer need to take prior permission from the central bank to open their branches within the country.

China strives to deepen military partnership with neighbors

China on Wednesday said that it is endeavoring to deepen military partnership with its neighboring countries. Issuing a 51-page white paper on China's defense policy entitled "China’s National Defense in the New Era", the State Council Information Office of China stated that the country is striving to strengthen military cooperation with its neighboring countries with a view to building community with a shared future in its neighborhood.

Cycle City is panacea for pollution and bad health, says LMC Mayor Maharjan

Lalitpur Metropolitan City (LMC) has completed the construction of cycle stands in various places of the district. Spokesperson for LMC, Raju Maharjan, said the construction of cycle stands at Mangalbazar, Pulchowk and the metropolis premise has already been completed. LMC committed to reducing air pollution looks forward to transforming itself into the cycle city by constructing separate cycle lanes on some of the road sections in the metropolitan premises.

Kedia Organization, Authorized Trade Union provide relief support to disaster-hit people

Authorized Trade Union, an umbrella trade union of civil servants in Nepal, has provided Rs one million as relief support to the landslides and flood-hit people. Representatives from the ATU handed over a check of Rs one million to Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli today as relief support to flood victims.

EC mobilizes €7 million to assist Nepal, Philipines in being prepared for disasters

The European Commission(EC), the executive of the European Union, has mobilized € 8.5 million to assist four countries  India, Bangladesh, Nepal and Philippines in South and South East Asia in being better prepared for natural disasters like floods and landslides.
