Transparency International Nepal expresses concern over Lalita Niwas land scam

Transparency International Nepal(TIN) has expressed concern over the news regarding the registration of the Baluwatar-based government land where  Prime Minister's official residence is situated-also referred to as 'Lalita Niwas land'- under the name of individuals issuing a press release on Monday. 

WHO designates Tilganga Eye Hospital as its coordinating center

World Health Organization (WHO) on Monday has designated Tilganga Eye Hospital based in Tilganga of the valley as its coordinating center.  WHO designated the hospital as its coordinating center in the presence of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli amid a function organized in Kathmandu to mark its  25th anniversary. According to the WHO, the eye hospital has been designated as its coordinating center due to its significant contribution to eye health care, lens production and research on eye health.

Devotees throng Pashupatinath to worship Lord Shiva

A large number of Hindu devotees especially women have thronged the Pashupatinath Temple in Kathmandu from early morning today to worship on the first Monday of the holy month of Shrawan as per the Nepali calendar.

10 Nepali youths rescued from Thailand

The Nepali Embassy in Thailand has repatriated 10 Nepali youths who were lured to Thailand for the prospect of good hotel management training and attractive salaries. Those Nepali youths were rescued after they complained to the embassy that they were severely underpaid and not given good hotel management training at Bangkok-based International Hotel and Airlines Business School in violation of their contract, the embassy stated in a press release on Monday.

12 injured in road accident in Dhading

Twelve persons were injured in a road accident in Dhading on Monday morning. The incident took place when a passenger bus (Lu 2 Kha 2134) en route to Chitwan from Kathmandu collided head-on with a microbus (Ba 5 Kha) coming to Kathmandu from Chitwan along the Prithvi Highway at Khayarghari in Dhading.
