Judicial custody extended, curfew lifted

BHIMDUTTANAGAR, Aug 30: The judicial custody of Roshani Bam and Babita Bam, taken into custody for investigation into the rape and murder of Nirmala Pant, has been extended by a week. 

District Court Kanchanpur extended the term by a week, according to Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office Kuber Kadayat. Roshani was classmate of Nirmala, who was raped and killed after returning from Roshani's house on July 26. 

One of the accused in the case, Dilip Singh Bista,41, has been sent to Kathmandu for a medical check-up. 

Meanwhile, the curfew imposed in Bhimdutta municipality has been lifted with effect from today. It had been in effect since the past one week in order to check the demonstration that took place calling for punishment against those behind the rape and murder of Nirmala.
