Jhiltung Cross Country Race C’ship on March 16

KATHMANDU, March 4: The Jhiltung Cross Country Race Championship is scheduled to be played on March 16, as per an announcement made Sunday. 

At a press meet organized in Kathmandu by Belkotgadhi Rural Municipality- 5, the organizers gave information about the tournament being held in Nuwakot district.  In the Run for Fun race, women players will take part in the 13.4 kilometer run, while men players will feature in 4.5 kilometer run. The players will run from Kolputar of Nagarkot to Betini, Rajodar, Majhgau, and Lamachaur, coming back to Kolputar at the end. 

In the main category, men and women players both will feature in the 13.4 kilometer race. The winners of the category will take home a cash prize of Rs 25,000 each, while the runner-ups will be rewarded with Rs 15,000 each. The third-placed players will get Rs 10,000. Likewise, the players to create a course record will receive Rs 5,000 each. 

In the boy and girl students’ 4.5 km race, the winners will be rewarded with Rs 5,000 each, while the runner-ups will get Rs 3,000 each. Likewise, the third-placed players will receive Rs 2,000 each.

Homalal Shrestha and Santoshi Shrestha were the winners of the first edition of the tournament, while Bhumiraj Rai and Kanchhi Maya Koju lifted the second edition.
