Jhapa delegation calls on PM

KATHMANDU, Oct 6: A delegation led by Damak-Rabi road (Phalgunanda Marga) Construction Consumer Committee Chairman Rewati Raj Puri called on Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal at latter's official residence in Baluwatar today morning.

During the meeting, they demanded that Rs 500 million be released for the construction of the 40 kilometers road. 

Their other demands also include the establishment of a temporary police beat to ensure security as 'it has been difficulty to move ahead with the construction works due to insecurity'. 

In response, pledging to do his best in helping in the construction works, he said the National Planning Commission and Finance Ministry would be consulted in this regard. Other delegation members include Minister for General Administration Keshab Kumar Budathoki and CPN-UML leader Agni Kharel, also former minister. 

During the meeting, Puri also drew the attention of PM to focus on completing the road that he said would directly benefit more than 1.2 million people of the area, saying that 25 years into the construction, the road is yet to be completed. 

He said it would require estimated Rs 1.5 billion to complete construction works. RSS
