BAITADI, Mar 6: A person died and six others were injured in a jeep accident at Dilashaini of Baitadi along the Gokuleswor-Ganna road section on Monday. 

The deceased has been identified as Krishna Singh Bista, 36, of Marma-3, Darchula, shared Police Inspector at District Police Office, Baitadi, Kamal Bista. 

The identity of a person seriously injured in the accident is yet to be established. 

Among the injured are Akabar Mahara, Gomati Mahara and Geeta Mahara of Marma-6 and Indian nationals Merman Singh and Subarna Singh. The injured are being treated at Gokuleswor Hospital. 

The jeep (Ma 1 Ja 233) en route to Gokuleswor from Latinath of Darchula met with the accident at 5.30 pm Monday at Dilasaini rural municipality-3, Jharna of Baitadi. 

Reason behind the accident has not been ascertained yet. Jeep driver Bista is absconding. 
Police confirmed that the jeep had fallen to the Chameliya river some 500 metres off the road. RSS
