KATHMANDU, Dec 18: The Judicial Council (JC) is all set to award four judges for best performance on the occasion of Judicial Council Day on Monday. The four jusges include two high court judges and two district court judges.

JC, the judges' regulatory body, has decided to award High Court judges Prakash Chandra Gajurel and Neeta Gautam Dixit and District Court judges Bidur Koirala and Dharma Raj Paudel for their exceptional performance. 

On the occasion, the JC will also make public the overall performance of the judges and take action against those judges who are involved in discrepancies.

“The awardees have been chosen by a meeting of the JC held on Friday,” a source at the JC told Republica. According to him, the award will be conferred to the judges on Monday. The JC has been marking its anniversary on Poush 3 every year since the establishment of the regulatory body two and a half decades ago. The JC began awarding judges for best performance based on deciding the highest number of cases since the last few years.
