KATHMANDU, Jan 10: Japan’s Foreign Minister Taro Kono has called on Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar this morning.
During the meeting, PM Oli expressed gratitude for Japan’s continued support to Nepal’s social and economic development fields. Likewise, PM Oli urged the Japanese Minister Taro to extend support in Nepal’s development priority areas, modernization of agriculture, energy generation, infrastructure development, and other sectors, according to PM Oli’s Foreign Affairs Advisor Rajan Bhattarai.
In response, the Japanese Minister pledged Japan’s continued support to Nepal by taking PM Oli’s urge positively, Bhattarai added.
Similarly, Minister Taro stressed the need for the development of regional organizations like SAARC and BIMSTEC, and expressing Japan’s readiness for support.
Bhattarai shared that expansion of Suryabinayak-Dhulikhel road stretch, construction of Nagdhunga-Nauibise tunnel works, employment opportunity for Nepali workers in Japan and other areas of mutual cooperation were discussed on the occasion.
