Janamat-NUP obstruct parliament over Resham Chaudhary's arrest

As soon as the session began today, NUP's Chairperson Ranjita Shrestha expressed her views, demanding a fair investigation into the incident of Resham Chaudhary's arrest.

KATHMANDU, May 6:  The Janamat Party and the Nagarik Unmukti Party (NUP) have obstructed the parliament session today.


Speaker Dev Raj Ghimire tried to advance the discussion on the government's policies and programs during the meeting today. But the discussion could not proceed as lawmakers belonging to both Janamat and NUP parties obstructed the session.

Ghimire mentioned that he had drawn the government's attention and requested the agitating lawmakers to take their seats. They have demanded answers regarding the arrest of NUP's Patron Resham Chaudhary on April 30.
