Sandeep Lamichhane to play in IPL T20,  trends on Twitter

Nepal’s sole cricketer to appear in the Indian Premier League (IPL), Sandeep Lamichhane was bought by Delhi Daredevils for his base price of Rs.20 lacs. The official twitter handle of IPL introduced Lamichhane as “Nepali Shane Warne”. Following the auction, Lamichhane has been trending on Twitter.

16 year rapes, kills and buries 8 year minor

An eight year girl from Rupakot Majhugadi-10, Patheka was raped and later killed on January 24 by an accused 16 year, Jiudhan Rai. The minor’s body was found buried in the bank of Chimchima river.

Ranibari forest, the single community forest inside ring-road

Ranibari Community Forest is being developed as a single community forest inside the ring road of the capital. Although there are 144 community forests in Kathmandu district, there is only one community forest inside the ring road. Located at Kathmandu Metropolitan City-3, the forest spreads over 6.95 hectares of land. 

Parbat district hospital's 'taxi ambulance'

For the past eight months, the District Hospital of Parbat is forced to urge patients to use taxis, that charge higher prices, to take them to Pokhara and other districts for further treatment. The Hospital suspended its ambulance service after its only ambulance had mechanical problems and is currently lying at a workshop in Pokhara. 

Two held with 50 kg hashish

Police arrested two persons with 50 kg of hashish from Madi rural municipality-2 in Rolpa today. Those arrested were Sher Bahadur Budha, 22, and Prashna Budha, 22, of Thabang rural municipality.

Trump denies climate change, but says he may sign Paris accord

President Donald Trump says he is skeptical about climate change, but says he might sign the United States back up to the Paris climate agreement. “There is a cooling, and there’s a heating. I mean, look, it used to not be climate change, it used to be global warming. That wasn’t working too well because it was getting too cold all over the place,” Trump said.
