Unification within two weeks: Oli

CPN-UML chairperson KP Sharma Oli has said that the conspiracies are being planned to ruin the party unification between CPN-UML and CPN (Maoist Center). Speaking with the journalists before flying to Bangkok, Oli said that the reactive forces are making effort to foil the ongoing unification process. However, he reiterated that the process will conclude within two weeks from now and claimed that the conspiracy will be spoilt.

EC takes action on 83 of 114 code violation complaints

The Election Commission (EC) received 114 complaints related to violation of the election code of conduct during the period of the House of Representatives and State Assembly elections. Commission's spokesperson Nawaraj Dhakal said that out of these complaints, the EC cleared 81 complaints after studying into all the complaints while no action was required regarding the remaining 33 complaints.  

UML-Maoist Center taskforce to work from Thursday

The task force formed by the CPN (UML) and the CPN (Maoist Center) in connection with the National Assembly election, the constitution of the Province Assembly and the provincial governments is to start its works from Thursday.  

Daughters suffocated to death, parents under treatment

Two girls died from asphyxiation while an aged woman was burnt to death in Sunsari. Both incidents occurred Tuesday. According to police, Alam Miya, his spouse and two small daughters were rescued Monday morning in an unconscious condition due to suffocation by smoke released from firewood and husk lit for keeping the room warm from their rented room at Itahari Sub Metropolis-6.

International skiing competition to be held in Mustang

An international skiing competition is to be held in Muktinath area of Mustang late this year with a view to promoting the country’s mountain tourism. Information about this was shared at a press meet here today. The Himalayan Skiing Trek is coordinating the event. International skier Krishna Thapa of Nepal will facilitate the competition.

South Korea's Moon says Trump deserves 'big' credit for North Korea talks

South Korean President Moon Jae-in credited U.S. President Donald Trump on Wednesday for helping to spark the first inter-Korean talks in more than two years, and warned that Pyongyang would face stronger sanctions if provocations continued. The talks were held on Tuesday on the South Korean side of the demilitarized zone, which has divided the two Koreas since 1953, after a prolonged period of tension on the Korean peninsula over the North’s missile and nuclear programs.
