KATHMANDU, Dec 3: Prime Minister and President of Nepali Congress (NC) Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that it is the responsibility of everyone to strengthen the party through its upcoming 14th General Convention and win all the upcoming three-level elections. 

Inaugurating the first provincial convention of Province 1 virtually, he said that the NC will lead the country toward development and prosperity. 

Stating that this is the first historic convention after the promulgation of the constitution, PM Deuba said, “We are going for local level elections in a few months and federal and provincial elections within a year. Winning the party's internal elections is a natural process, a democratic exercise. Therefore, I am confident that you will take internal competition as a democratic exercise and in the coming days all the leaders and cadres of the party will come together and focus on the election in a way that will win the trust of the people.”

PM Deuba recalled the views of late BP Koirala and the contribution of other senior leaders and stressed the need for making the NC stronger. Stating that strong democracy is the reason behind the development and prosperity of any country, PM Deuba claimed that only NC can lead the country toward those achievements. 

“I have full faith that the provincial convention will strengthen the NC even further and will also discuss winning the hearts of the public,” PM Deuba said. Expressing his best wishes for the convention, PM Deuba congratulated and welcomed all the participants to the event.
