It’s because of NC that the President could not be elected unanimously in 2018 : MP Bhattarai

KATHMANDU, Jan 19: CPN-UML lawmaker Yogesh Kumar Bhattarai has stated that because of the Nepali Congress (NC), the President could not be unanimously elected in the year 2018.

KATHMANDU, Jan 19: CPN-UML lawmaker Yogesh Kumar Bhattarai has stated that because of the Nepali Congress (NC), the President could not be unanimously elected in the year 2018.


He said this while speaking at the meeting of the House of Representatives on Thursday. According to Bhattarai, after the constitution was made in 2015, the president should have been elected unanimously, but targeting the Nepali Congress, he said that the president could not be elected unanimously because of the Nepali Congress.

He claimed that if we look at the history of the NC, it is a party that takes the most benefits and does not hand it over to others. He urged all the parties including the NC who gave the vote of confidence to Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal to vote for the Speaker candidate Devraj Ghimire to be elected as Speaker.


MP Bhattarai said that Ghimire is qualified enough to be the Speaker in every way and urged that he should be elected as the Speaker.
