KATHMANDU, Feb 9: Speaker of the House of Representatives (HoR), Dev Raj Ghimire has said that the nation and nationality will be elevated if the sports sector could be streamlined.

Speaker Ghimire said so while inaugurating the 13th Public Enterprises Sports Tournament organized by the Public Enterprises  Sports Development Association, Nepal on Thursday. He said that sports help not only in physical and mental development but also in increasing cooperation. He said that previously physical work made the body fit, but now people are more focused on mental work, so there is a need to keep the body fit through sports. According to him, the interest of the youth in sports will increase if the programs in the field of sports carried out by public institutions can be promoted from the grassroots level.

Ghimire said that it is necessary to organize sports and develop the sports sector, adding that sports will increase the sense of belonging and pride in the country. He said that although Nepal is progressing in sports, it is not enough.
