It is necessary to pay attention to health infrastructure: PM Deuba

KATHMANDU, Dec 24: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that the government is improving the health system to ensure access to health care for senior citizens.

Addressing a program organized on the occasion of the 98th birthday of former Prime Minister and saint leader Krishna Prasad Bhattarai at Badegaun in Lalitpur on Saturday, Prime Minister Deuba said that the government is working to ensure social justice by making the life of senior citizens comfortable, safe, dignified and assured.

"This campaign will help ensure social justice by making the lives of senior citizens easy, safe, dignified and assured," he said. "The government is trying to improve the health system to ensure access to health for senior citizens," he added.

He also said that there is a need to pay attention to the health infrastructure for the treatment of senior citizens. Deuba mentioned that in order to increase the social security of senior citizens across the country, the government has arranged to give old-age allowance to those over 65 years of age in the budget.

He stated, 'There is a need to pay attention to the health infrastructure for the treatment of senior citizens. In order for the social security of senior citizens to reach everyone, the government has arranged to give old-age allowance to those who are over 65 years old in the budget.”

Prime Minister Deuba said that it was a matter of pride for him to work with inspiring people like leader Bhattarai. On that occasion, Prime Minister Deuba also launched the Kisunji Senior Citizen Health Service National Campaign.
