Under the proposed rule, both Nepali men and women can go to Israel paying a maximum amount of around Rs 65,000.

Israel is one of the lucrative destinations for Nepali caregivers.  It had stopped hiring Nepali workers through recruitment agencies since 2009 citing huge irregularities in the recruitment system of the foreign employment agencies.

“The government will initiate formal process of selection of workers once it receives formal request for caregivers,” said Mohan Adhikari, spokesperson of the department. A recruiting agency from Israel will also be involved in the selection process, he said.
