KATHMANDU, April 18: The Nepali film 'A Place Under the Sun,' which was entirely shot with an iPhone 14 Pro Max mobile phone, is set to be released on several world-famous OTT platforms. According to the film’s director Jason Lopchan, the film, belonging to the 'crime' genre, will soon be available on Apple TV, Prime Video, and Peakcock streaming platforms.
"We have been in talks with these platforms through a third party for about a month. Recently, we finalized an agreement to release the film," he said, adding, "As there wasn't an option for a theatrical release in Nepal, we pursued this opportunity."

Director Lopchan mentioned that they initially aimed to release the film in Nepali theaters after completing production. However, due to budget constraints for a theatrical release, they opted for OTT platforms as an alternative, leading to this opportunity.
He further stated that the upcoming steps include releasing teasers, trailers, and marketing efforts. The film, scheduled for release in July, is produced by One Squad Films. Lopchan expressed his intent to collaborate with local OTT platforms in Nepal since theatrical opportunities are limited.
The film follows the story of three young men who have been friends since childhood. The cast includes Min Ghalan, Mira Gurung, Anshu Sharma, Biplav Gauli, Prajan Paudel, Riden Shrestha, and Prabesh Mahatara Chhetri.
